Customizing your Store – How to use blocks

Our brand new store editor is beginning to roll out across all of our themes. As each one is added we’ll let everyone know.

Blocks

Our stores are made up of blocks. Put simply blocks are pieces of content; images, text, video etc that you add to your store. You can add as many blocks as you like and therefore you have full control over your store. Blocks can be added to the homepage and content pages within your store.

Adding blocks

Adding blocks is simple. Just hover over the section you wish to add a new block and select the ‘+’ option.

This will allow you to choose a block type. Over time these will expand to include more and more block types. Simply select your block and it will be added to your store.

Simply select the arrow option, hold down your mouse and drag the block to the required position within your store. Release your mouse and the block will be saved in it’s new position.

Removing blocks

If you’re not happy about a block, no problem you can simply remove with the remove icon.

Grid blocks

The most versatile of the blocks is the ‘Grid’ block as this allows you to specify a number of columns and within each column add additional blocks i.e. Image blocks, text blocks etc. Allowing you to create horizontal content sections.

Once you’ve added a grid block simply add the content required to each column. You can add as many blocks to a column as you like.

Item blocks

You can also add items direct to your store with the ‘Item’ block.  Once you’ve added the ‘Item’ block just select the category you wish to display and the number of items. If you don’t have any items within your featured category we’ll display some demo items so you can see how it looks.
